Solley's Ice Cream Campsite

Stay in the heart of the Garden of England

Stay on the farm in the heart of the Garden of England. A small site awaits those wanting to retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or those looking for a convenient stop off en route to or back from the continent (Dover is 20 minutes away).

Use the farm as your base to explore much of the Kent coastline from Whitstable, Broadstairs and Margate round to the ancient Cinque Ports of Sandwich, Deal and Hythe and beyond. Or head inland and explore the historic city of Canterbury. All are located within half an hour’s drive or less.

Our on site Ice Cream Parlour & Café serves a selection of food, drink and of course ice cream, and don’t forget to check out what events are on at The Pub at Solley’s – some require pre-booking.

We have electricity and a waste disposal point and with newly upgraded toilet and shower facilities (July 2024) we are able to offer pitches for tents as well as caravans and motorhomes.

PITCHES
We have a number of different pitch options when you stay with us which you will find listed below and you can view our site map here.

Main Field – 6 x grass pitches measuring roughly 14m x 10m with 16 amp electric hook up.  Suitable for camper vans, motorhomes & caravans.  Price includes 5 people, with extras available at additional charge by prior arrangement.
Outer Field – 5 x non-electric grass pitches measuring roughly 14m x 10m (suitable for tents only), 2 x grass pitches measuring roughly 14m x 10m with 16 amp electric hook up (suitable for camper vans, motorhomes & caravans) and 3 x hard standing pitches measuring roughly 14m x 10m with 16 amp electric hook up (suitable for camper vans, motorhomes & caravans). Price includes 5 people, with extras available at additional charge by prior arrangement.
Top Field – 5 x grass pitches measuring roughly 14m x 10m with 16 amp electric hook up.  Suitable for campervans, caravans, RVs and motorhomes. Price includes 5 people, with extras available at additional charge by prior arrangement.
The Paddock – 3 x grass pitches combined to make 1 large pitch in the hedged paddock area with 16 amp electric hook up.  Suitable for tents, campervans, caravans, RVs and motorhomes. Price includes 15 people, with extras available at additional charge by prior arrangement.
Windsock Area – 4 x grass pitches, some with electric. tents, campervans, caravans, RVs and motorhomes. Price includes 5 people, with extras available at additional charge by prior arrangement.

DIRECTIONS

Please note, towed caravans & larger vehicles should take the following route to the campsite:

Come in on the A258 Dover Road, past Ringwould & towards Walmer.  Turn left on to Ripple road (just after a car wash centre).  Carry on down the long straight across the railway bridge, turn right at the T junction, then through the crooked S into the village. Go slow following the road past the Pub (The Plough) do not turn right here – at the next crossroads turn right & follow the road, the parlour is clearly signed up Mantles Hill. Take the first left into Solley’s.
